The Las Margaritas apartments are at Camí de l'Atall, 27, on the seafront at Cargador beach (Carregador in Valencian), Alcossebre's main beach. It's one of the easiest areas of town for a car-free holiday: the beach in front, the promenade alongside and the centre a few minutes' walk away.
Cargador beach
The Cargador is a fine sandy beach about 850 metres long and 70 wide, fully accessible and with an unbroken Blue Flag since 1987. It has a dune system of high ecological value, with a colony of sea daffodils, plus a sailing club and paddleboard hire. The seafront promenade runs the length of the beach, lined with terraces, ice-cream parlours and restaurants.

What's nearby on foot
- The Cargador seafront promenade: cafés, ice-cream parlours and restaurants facing the sea.
- Alcossebre town centre: Plaza Vistalegre, with the tourist office (Tourist Info Alcossebre), shops, supermarkets and services.
- Playa Romana: to the south, linked to the Cargador by the Senda Litoral, a wooden boardwalk along the sea.
- Las Fuentes marina: to the north, with about 280 berths and home to the Club de Vela Alcossebre sailing club.
- Tuesday market: from May to October, in the afternoons, on Camí l'Atall near the seafront promenade.
Heading south: the Senda Litoral and Playa Romana
From the southern end of the Cargador the Senda Litoral sets off, a wooden boardwalk along the sea leading to Playa Romana, another fine sandy beach with a Blue Flag in 2026. It's one of the loveliest walks in town, especially first thing in the morning or at sunset. Further on are El Moro, Tres Platges and Manyetes beaches.
Heading north: Las Fuentes and the marina
North of the Cargador are Las Fuentes marina and Les Fonts beach, famous for the freshwater springs that bubble up through its sand. Boat trips leave from the marina, including visits to the Columbretes Islands Natural Park. A little further on, the Serra d'Irta Natural Park begins.

Short trips from the Cargador
North of the marina begins the Serra d'Irta Natural Park, with coves, the Alcossebre lighthouse and easy walking routes such as the one from the lighthouse to Cala Cubanita. Inland, about 12 minutes away, is Alcalà de Xivert, with the church of San Juan Bautista and its 68-metre bell tower, one of the tallest in the Valencia region. Peñíscola is about 35 minutes away by road.
Eating near the Cargador
On the promenade and in the centre there are restaurants serving Mediterranean food. Typical Alcossebre dishes include arroz al horno (oven-baked rice), arroz a la marinera (seafood rice), suquet de peix (fish stew) and octopus with potatoes, with almond sweets such as pastissets and carquinyols for pudding. The town's star product is the Tomata de Penjar d'Alcalà de Xivert, a local hanging tomato.
Staying in the same area
If you'd like an alternative in the same setting, the Ibiza apartments are right on the Cargador seafront promenade and the Mare Nostrum apartments are in the centre, two minutes from the beach. We compare them in alternatives to Las Margaritas. And if you haven't picked your dates yet, see the Alcossebre calendar or go back to the Las Margaritas information page.
